  • Gandalf talks to Bilbo Baggins

    Gandalf goes to Bilbo Baggins' house to talk to him about going on an adventure. Gandalf purposelly leaves a lot of information unspoken. Bilbo refuses to go on the trip, and Gandalf walks away.

  • The dwarfs arrive at Bilbo Baggins' house

    The dwarfs arrive at Bilbo Baggins' house. There are thirteen dwarfs led by the dwarf Thorin Oakenshield. Gandalf then recruits Bilbo Baggins to be their pocket-thief, even though the dwarfs do not want him as their pocket-thief.

  • The dwarfs, Gandalf and Bilbo Baggins start their journey.

    The dwarfs, Gandalf and Bilbo Baggins leave The Shire and start their journey against the dragon Smaug and the lonely mountain. The company are captured by three trolls but they manage to escape.

  • The company receive help to read the map

    Bilbo receives a sword from Gandalf that lights up blue when orcs are nearby. The copmany are chased down by orcs and are nearly killed but gets saved by some elves.
    The company approach the elf town Riverdale, where they need help to read the map. The company discovered with the help of the elves how to open a door that leads them to the lonely mountain.

  • The company continues their journey towards the lonely mountain

    The company walks further against the lonely mountain. The company walks along a really steep mountain when the mountains turn into stone giants and start to fight against each other. They find shelter and get to sleep. At the night, Bilbo tries to sneak away, but then the ground they are sleeping on falls and the company are captured by goblins.

  • The Ring and Gollum

    At the same time, the dwarfs are taken by the goblins, Bilbo manages to sneak off and falls far down in the mountain. There, Bilbo finds a creature named Gollum. Gollum has a ring that he precious highly, and Bilbo ends up taking that ring from Gollum. This ring makes Bilbo invisible which helps him escape the mountain and he meets up with the dwarfs again, who was saved by Gandalf

  • The eagles

    After Bilbo had met up with Gandalf and the dwarfs, they continued to walk, but suddenly the orcs were there, and the company were chased down towards a cliff. There, Gandalf calls on eagles who saves the company and flies them to the top of a hill, where the company can see the lonely mountain a distance away.

  • The company meets Beorn

    The company meets Beorn who is a half-man half-bear creature. Beorn can turn into a full grown bear when he gets angry. The company sleeps at Beorn's house for a night.

  • The woods

    Gandalf separates from the company. The company walk through the woods and get captured by giant spiders but Bilbo saves them. After this, the company get captured by the Wooden-Elves but Bilbo saves them again and they escape in barrels among the river. The orcs are still hunting the company and among the river, it was a fight between the orcs, dwarfs and the elves.

  • The company meets a Lake-man named Bard

    The company survives the fight and successfully lose the orcs for now. The company needs a way to get into Lake-Town, so they contact a Lake-man nearby. This Lake-man is named Bard and he is willing to help the company.

  • The trip to the lonely mountain

    After the company left Lake-town, they headed towards the lonely mountain, they found the mountain and Bilbo found the entrance to the mountain. Bilbo tries to sneak in and find the Arkenstone, but he wakes up Smaug the dragon. Smaug the dragon then leaves the mountain and smashes Lake-town. But right after Smaug is killed by Bard with a bow.

  • The fight over the mountain

    The word of Smaug's death spread out fast, and many kinds of people headed to the mountain for all the gold that was in it. The elves and Lake-people want their part of the treasure of the lonely mountain, who is currently possessed by the dwarfs. Thorin refuses and as a result, Bilbo steals the Arkenstone and gives it to the Lake-people and the elves. Thorin gets mad at Bilbo and he casts out Bilbo.

  • The final war

    The orcs also want possession of the treasure that lies in the lonely mountain, this quickly escalates into a war between good and evil. In the end, Thorin and the main-orc named Azhog fought the last battle, where both of them died. The good side won the battle, but they had lost a good warrior in Thorin Eikenshield. Bilbo and Gandalf head home.

  • Gandalf and Bilbo stay at Beorn's hall before heading home

  • Gandalf and Bilbo reach Rivendell

    Bilbo finds out that most of his things and books have been sold out on auction because everyone thought he was dead.
