The first video game starts
The beginning of gaming. Physicist William Higinbotham created "Tennis for two" on a piece of equipment. He introduced his game at the Brookhaven National Laboratory open house where many people attempted to one up each other with what they create. -
Spacewar!
Spacewar! was the first interactive computer games on the market. Stephan Russel created it on the PDP-1 a computer the size of a large car. The creator made it open source and believes he caused the horde of gaming to unleash on the world. -
Computer Space
Computer Space is the arcade cabinet version of space war. As the original was not able to be distributed to the public easily Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney decided to remake it onto cabinets. This became the first arcade video game ever released. -
Atari
Busnell and Dabney created the first home video game system and called it Atari. Later they developed pong for it. the Atari home gaming system was created to bring the sense of wonder into your home the same way you get to see when you went to an arcade. -
The first cartage system
The first cartage based gaming system was created by Atari. The Video Computer System was the name but quickly became the Atari 2600. This led to the game race of who can make the newest and best games. -
Tetris
Russian programmer Alex Pajitnov created the game Tetris. The game was created as a wonder about how many ways you can fit together blocks to make lines. -
The Nintendo Game Boy
The game boy is a hand held gaming console. This was revolutionary and children were the biggest buyers of it, if you were old enough to be a kid back then you'd have memories of being the coolest kid on the playground. -
The Super NES
The super NES was the next powerful console that Nintendo created. It was the new NES, the SNES allowing people to see what 32 gigabyte tech can give the,. -
Age ratings
As gaming changed and included more stuff parents may not want their children to see. The rating system rates game by age, E to 18+ for the hardcore bad games. Though many people ignore the rating systems. -
The NES
The Nintindo Entertainemnt System or NES for short was a large thing for the company. The NES made many happy children's lives when they were younger. It started in japan and a few years later spread to the US. -
The Playstation hits the US
Sony's Playstation hits the US market. The Playstation led to plenty of new games. They were struggling against Nintendo leading to fans allying themselves with either Nintendo or Sony. -
Billy Mitchel's Victory
Billy Mitchel attained the highest possible score in Pac Man. the score is 3,333,360 without a single point over being possible. Many have tried and none have managed to beat it. -
Playstation 2
The play station 2 led into the era of gaming most people grew up with now days, right into the PS3 and eventually to the PS4 but the PS2 had a very important place. -
Microsoft joins the battle
Microsoft and Nintendo and unleashes their new consoles within days of each other. Microsoft claims the X box is the most powerful gaming console ever while Nintendo unleashes a cheaper console and the game boy advance.
