    Abraham

    Abraham was the one who founded the Hebrew race who all shared the belief of one God, he also brought the Hebrew's into Egypt and worked as the PM to the king.

    The Exodus

    Moses led the Jewish people out of slavery in Egypt and then died on his journey back to Canaan. Moses was also significant because he received the 10 commandments and other laws for to live by from God.

    Assyrians conquered Israel

    The Assyrians came into Israel and conquered it and as a result many Jews lost faith and were separated

    Babylonians conquer Israel

    The Babylonians came into Israel and conquered it and as a result they destroyed the main temple and captured many Jews

    Romans

    Romans conquered and made harsh rules that made it hard to remain a Jew and as a result of this many Jews left

    Titus destroys second temple

    Titus destroys second temple and took Jews captive to Rome

    Middle Ages

    Jews were consistently faced wiht persecution, some events in this time include military crusades, Jews had to be segregated, lived in ghettos and were expelled from Spain under the inquisition which punished all non-christians.

    Changes in traditional beliefs

    Equality and freedom for all was demanded, Hasidism developed in Western Europe, Anti-Semitism saw growth and this lead to the equality and freedom of Jews revoked and thousands of Jews were massacred and Jews started fleeing from countries.
  • Germany lose WW1

    Germany were officially defeated and the "November Criminals" signed the treaty that officially saw the end of WW1, This left Germany in ruin economically and physically and it also led to the rise of the Nazi Party and Hitler. Whilst in this time Hitler made it clear that Jews were to blame for economic struggles.

    The Holocaust

    In this period of WW2 the Nazis conquered most of Eastern Europe and many european Jews came under Nazi domination. Hitler ordered for all Jews to be killed and as a result of that 6 million Jews were killed. These 6 million were mainly killed in concentration camps where Jews were killed on mass by firing squads and gas chambers.
  • Nuremberg Laws

    The Nazi's stripped all Jews of citizenship and sent Jews to ghettos and concentration camps. Many Jews tried to flee to other countries but tough immigration policies made that difficult.
