Renaming
In 1968, the third eatery Pete and Fred opened was named "Subway" and the duo made a profit of US$7000 -
Franchising
In 1974, 16 Subway restaurants had already been established. The duo had trouble keeping the products sold in their restaurants consistent in all 16 restaurants, so they decided to franchise teh company. -
100th Store Milestone
Subway opens its 100th store after a rapid expansion. -
Subway goes International
Subway opens its first store outside the USA, in Bahrain, an island off the coast of Saudi Arabia. -
Subway Today
Subway today is a major TNC (trans-national company) and has even surpassed the Golden Arches in terms of number of stores. It still sells sandwiches, and Deluca is the current CEO of the company.
