BBS was online meeting places that indepenedtly-produced hunks of code that allowed users to intereact within a central system where they could download files or games and also post messages to other users. The BBS continued to gain popularity throughout the 80's and well into the 90's and internet was on the rise.

It paved the way for modern social media as society knows it to be today. It was the first chat introduced
