  • Uwharrie Mountains

    Uwharrie Mountains was an epoch where large animals began but became extinct and Humans began to appear.
  • Sandhills Formed

    The epoch of Pleistocene were when sandhills formed. Streams eroded massive areas and pushed the erosion to the Coastal Plain. (Definitely not the right day)
  • Coastal Plains

    Formed in the Pleistocene epoch. Polar ice caps re-formed sea level fell revealing these.
  • Escarpments

    Sharp drop offs. Pleistocene was the epoch these formed in and it was when the polar ice caps melted and rose the sea level.
  • Barrier Islands

    Glaciers receded in the Pleistocene epoch. This left bits of land still above water forming current barrier islands
  • Fayetteville

    Formed in the same epoch when the sea levels fell rivers fell rapidly and in this line Fayetteville was formed.
  • Blue Ridge

    Blue Ridge appears how it does toay in the Pliocene epoch.
  • Piedmont

    This appears as it does today in that very same epoch
  • New Bern

    in the Oligocene epoch the ocean advanced west as far as present days New Bern.
  • Outer Banks

    When North America shifted and the Atlantic formed between it and Africa. The shore of the continent was located near present day Outer Banks.
  • Appalachain Mountains

    In the Permian Era the Appalachain Mountain chain formed it was 620 miles long.
  • King's Mountain

    This was formed in the Cambrian Epoch,when North Carolina moved into/towards the rest of the continent
  • Grenville Mountains

    In this era this mountain chain was the first ever to form in North Carolina
