    Nintendo moved from card games to making a taxi company, a series of love chain items, a food company and a TV network. But these ventures failed, and Nintendo dropped in sales.

    The First thing Nintendo did in the gaming industry was distribute this game console called the Magnavox Odessy in Japan in 1974.

    Nintendo Released their first arcade game called EVR Race, the wasen't a very big hit and Nintendo didn't get a lot of money.

    The Colour TV Game was released in a series of 5 units each with a different theme. 6 and 15 were console's with variations of Pong, there were also other versions that included different games. They were sold in 1977-1980.

    The Game-and-Watch was Nintendo's first Handheld Console, it was a bunch of mini games which were released over the years 1980 to 1981.

    The Biggest Change came into play with the arcade game donkey kong in 1981. The Game introduced Mario and the big Ape Donkey Kong, with Mario later becomeing the mascot of the company.

    The big game console that saw the return of the gameing industry was the NES or the Famicom in Japan, this console was 8-bit and saw the first apperancess of some of Nintendo's biggest franchises.

    Nintendo's next handheld was a cool little black and white console which introduced Nintendo's Handheld series PokeMon.

    Nintendo broke into the 16-bit generation with the SNES or the Super Famicom in Japan, it was the first time Nintendo had some competition in the console wars, against SEGA's SEGA Mega Drive or the Genesis in America.

    The Virtual Boy was Nintendo's attempt at making a 3D game console, the console itself was a set of glasses and a controller, their were only 12 games released for the system.

    Nintendo skipped making a 32-bit console and made a 64-bit console instead (hence the name of the console), The N64 saw a lot of Nintendo Franchises make their 3D debut, it's main competition was Sony's Playstation.

    The GameBoy colour was pretty much a GameBoy with colour, and was see through.

    The GameBoy Advance was nothing like the originals, it had 32-bit graphics, and it had some really cool games, and the first handheld Mario Kart game.

    The Gamecude was Nintendo's next home console with updated graphics and the console running on disks. But this console didn't sell very well, because of Sony's Playstation 2 and Microsoft's XBox.

    Nintendo next handheld was the dual-screened DS, this caonsole had a lot of different incarnations, and it feached lots of remakes.

    Nintendo's newest console was a hit, and it became the best selling Nintendo console in history, It was also the first console to have motion control, it's main rivals were Sony's Playstation 3 and Microsoft's XBox 360.

    The 3DS was the first handheld console and first console in all to have no glasses 3D, while Nintendo had tried to do a 3D console earlier, this was the real deal.

    Nintendo's latest console was a very different console, it had a very big game pad and it was Nintendo's first HD console, It's main competion will be, Sony's Playstation 4 and Microsoft's XBox ONE.
