Zaccharias Janssen and his father Hans are two dutch spectacle makers. In 1590, they wanted to experiment with the lenses so they put lots of lenses in a tube. With that, they invented the compound microscope. -
Robert Hooke Discovers Cells
Robert Hooke, with his microscope, he looked at the bark that is used for wine stoppers and saw that there were little boxes that looked like small rooms monks stay in, so he called the boxes cells.
