Catherine de Medic became the queen in France and shared the dancing she had enjoyed in Italy. -

The First Official Ballet Performance
This was the first ballet know of in history. The ballet performed was Le Ballet Comique de la Reine. -
The Strengthening in France
During the late 1600's and the early 1700's King Louis the 14th reigned. He helped strengthen the ballet that Catherine de Medici had previously brought up. -
Ballet de la Nuit
In this ballet, King Louis XVI danced when he was 14. He played many role including the Sun King. -

The five positions where created by Pierre Beauchamp a dancing master. He created these five positions in the late 1600's. -

Marie Camargo removed the heels from her dance shoes to enable more movement when she danced. -

This was one of the greatest dance companies or schools used to develop outstanding ballet skills. -
The Book and Change
During this year, a French choreographer named Jean Georges Noverre said that the dancers were trying to hard to show of technical skill rather than expressing their characters and using feelings in his book. He encouraged less masks costumes and wigs to express the character. -

The Start of Pointe
During the 1800s, Marie Taglioni eddited her shoes so that there had leather soles and extra weight on the toe. This was the start of pointe. It was much more painful and bad for you that pointe is now. -
Official Change in Slippers
After the French Revolution, heels were permanatly removed from ballet slippers. -
Giselle and La Slyphide creation
During this romantic period, Giselle and La Syphide were created. These are two classical ballets. This started a spark in arts and music. -
