The Praxinoscope was invented
The praxinoscope used a strip of pictures placed around the inner surface of a spinning cylinder someone looking in the mirrors would therefore see a rapid succession of images producing the illusion of motion, with a brighter and less distorted picture than the zoetrope offered. It was invented by Charles-Émile Reynaud in France, 1877.

The First Movie Camera was Created
The very first patented film camera was designed in England by Frenchman Louis Le Prince in 1888 which he used to shoot the first sequences of moving film in the world, including the Roundhay Garden Scene and Leeds Bridge. Roundhay Garden was shot at 12 frame/s and Leeds Bridge at 20 frame/s.

The Enchanted Drawing
The Enchanted drawing is a silent film and stop motion created by J. Stuart Blackton who is considered the father of American animation. Blackton became so infatuated with the technology that he soon founded the American Vitagraph Company and began producing films, debuting with The Enchanted Drawing in 1900.

Humorous Phases of Funny Faces
Created by James Stuart Blackton, Humorous Phases of Funny Faces is generally regarded by film historians as the first animated film recorded on standard picture film. In the cartoon, animated hand-drawn scenes appear on a chalkboard, in the beginning he uses live action to draw the first couple lines then uses stop motion to complete the pictures.

Gertie the Dinosaur was created by Winsor McCay who was an American cartoonist and animator. He first used the film infront of live audiences as a part of his vaudevelli act. Gertie was the first film to use animation techniques such as keyframes, registration marks and tracing paper.

The multiplane camera is a special motion picture camera used in animation that moves a number of pieces of artwork past the camera at various speeds and at various distances from one another. This creates a three-dimensional effect, although it is not actually stereoscopic. The most famous multiplane camera was invented by William Garity for the Walt Disney Studios.
