National Aeronautics and space Act, better known as N.A.S.A, created/re-named on July 29, 1958. It was previously known as National Advisory for Committee Aeronautics. N.A.S.A is 53 years old. N.A.C.A was 43 years old. -
Project Mercury
Project Mercury was the start of the exploration of space with NASA. -
Project Gemini
First space rendez vous and docking with another space craft. It also did the first American space walk. -
X-15
The X-15 was the first Rocket-Plane to take off from the N.A.S.A base pad. -
Apollo Program
This project cost $25.8 billion in the 60s-70s, but know it would cost $202 billion. It carried Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins. Buzz and Neil where the first people from America on the moon. -
Skylab
This was the only independently built American space station It was launched on May 14, 1973. -
The Space Shuttle Program
This Project was the main focus for the NASA team in the 70s-80s. The first launch was on April 12, 1981.
