The Bowl Harp and Tanbur
The bowl harp was made from tortoise shells as resonators, with a bent stick for neck with gut or silk strings. The tanbur was created shortly after and was made from a wood, pear-shaped body, with an arched back, usually with a soundboard of wood or hide, and a long, straight neck and strings made from silk. -

The Vihuela
Created in 15th century Spain, made from sanded wood and has 12 strings made from gut and is tuned very similar to a modern guitar. -
The Baroque
A stringed instrument was smaller than a modern guitar, had a lighter composition, and had gut strings. The frets were also made of gut, and were tied around the neck. It had a unusually high sound compared to a modern acoustic guitar. -
Classical Guitar
The six stringed, classical guitar was created in the mid 1700's. Classical guitars are typically strung with nylon strings, plucked with the fingers, and usually played in a seated position to play classical music. It has a very similar tone to a piano. -
Acoustic Guitar
The acousic guitar was created in the 1800's. The acoustic guitar had an acoustic sound board that when played, the air in cavity resonates with the vibrational modes of the string to play notes with high and low frequencies. -

The Gibson acoustic guitar brand was the first brand to create an electrical guitar. An electric guitar is played by having a wire connected to an amp that projects the sound louder and in a different tone depending on the amp's tonal knobs. -

The Fender Stratocaster's nickname was "Strat". Was a model of a electric guitar designed by Leo Fender, George Fullerton, and Freddie Tavares in 1954, and manufactured by the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. It is a double-cutaway guitar, with a top horn for balance while standing.
