    Originally inhabitants of America. Forced assimilation and loss of land, discrimination. Lost many things, especially their identity. They were here way before Americans and lost everything and till this day still try to fight for it.
  • African Americans

    African Americans
    Enslaved Africans were freed and allowed to walk freely in the United States after being enslaved for so long. Still many did not accept them and they were discriminated against. They also were not allowed to share many things Americans used, they would have separate bathrooms and schools for colored people. Moved to urban areas in the north for better economic opportunities and escape racial oppression. Till this day they are still treated unfairly but are more free than ever.
  • European immigrants

    European immigrants
    Many European immigrants came in numerous waves. Many suffered verbal and physical abuse because they were "different". Also many could not read and write in English so they were rendered useless. Many came from Spain, France, Netherlands and Germany. They are treated fairly now and have way to become US citizen to have equal rights.
  • Asian Immigrants

    Asian Immigrants
    The majority were railroad construction workers or miners. They faced discrimination including the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1882. Especially during World War 2 many Chinese and Japanese were discriminated. They were imprisoned during the war and treated unfairly. Not they are view as normal people and have contributed to many things in America.
  • Latin Communities

    Latin Communities
    Consisted of Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and Dominicans. They played a significant role in the labor force and were constantly taken advantage of. They were constantly discriminated against and exploited with limited access to education and healthcare. Mexico lost land to America due to war. Mexican culture has been more influential than any other. Many innocent hispanics were deported for no reason and caged like animals even if they were Mexican or not.
  • Irish immigrants

    Irish immigrants
    faced discrimination and prejudice because of their catholic faith. Not included and given equal rights from the beginning, but till transitioned more smoothly with less tension.Are treated fairly and are no longer viewed as outcast since Catholics are spread all over the US.
  • Muslim americans

    Muslim americans
    Many Muslims migrated here around 1925 but they were just viewed differently. it wasn't until the 9/11 attack that many Muslims faced discrimination surveillance, and hate crimes due to their religious identity
