He would be be the director of the FBI until his death in 1972. He was an extremely effective leader. He was known to keep secret files on high profile people.

What would be known as a 10 year period the great depression, the unemployment rate was 25%. People were homeless, people were starving it was the worst economic downfall this country had ever seen.

The cause was poor management of the land a tense change of what was growing there the land was changed from mostly growing stock to plowing millions of acres of land to start growing wheat. After the following springs winds there were piles of dirt everywhere. These dust storms were so bad that sometimes they carried all the way out to the east coast.

He was elected because it was believed that he could combat the great depression better than his opponent Herbert Hoover who americans tended to blame for the great depression. Roosevelt won this election by a landslide, and proved to be one of the most popular and effective presidents.

This program provided construction work , they build thousand miles of road, bridges, public buildings, ect. This was a very cuciel program providing so many people jobs.

    J.J. Braddock also known as cinderella man since his almost fairytale like rise from coming from a poor home to be the heavyweight boxing champion. On June 13 1935 underdog J.J. Braddock and Max baer were set up for a fight for the heavyweight boxing title. Only a year after coming out of retirement J.J. Braddock unanimously won the heavyweight boxing title.

    The civilian conservation corps(CCC) was put into action on april 5th 1933 by executive order. This program was part of FDRs new deal program. This program was mostly for young unmarried men. They lived in camps and would do things such as plant trees and build flood barriers. This program provided 3,000,000 men employment during its 9 year duration.
