Circe's Island
The next stop was Circe's island. When they arrived Odysseus sent his men to go find food. On their way, they saw vicious non attacking animals. When the men make get to Circe's house. She feeds them and turns them into pigs. When Odysseus heard the news, he went to her house. On his way, he was given a magic drink that protects him from any spells. When they made love, Odysseus tries to get his men back. After he gets them back, they stay for a year. Odysseus gets back on a path to go home. -

Helios’ cattle
The second to last stop was the island of Helios. Odysseus was told harm none of the Cale, and if they do, then they wont make it home, but Odysseus would. His men decide to find the best cattle and sacrifice it to the God, Helios is very upset. When Odysseus finds out what they did, he gets very upset with his men. On their way home they run into a storm and the Oarsman is killed, and the wind breaks their ship. Odysseus grabs onto na branch as his ship is pushed back to the previous location. -

Scylla and Charybdis
On their way home, they had to pass through two cliffs. Scylla the six headed creature (which ate six men) lived on one and Charybdis (which always ate the ship and men) lived under water. Odysseus had to make his mind up of which cliff they were going to pass. He decided to go by Scylla's cliff, and distract her by throwing her a lamb to eat. Then escaped the monsters. What Odysseus learned in this location is how to make a smart decision. Instead of losing six men he distracted her. -

Trojan war
The day Odysseus got tired of fighting, he came up with a plan. So he builds a wooden horse. The people of Troy found the Wooden horse and think the Greeks surrendered and it's a gift from the Greeks. So they bring it inside the walls of Troy and celebrated by drinking. When everyone in the town celebrated too much they all fell asleep from drinking too much wine. The Greeks hiding in the horse jumped out and attacked who were caught by surprise, until all the Trojans were dead. -

The Island of the Lotus Eaters
Odysseus and his men arrived to The Island of the Lotus Eaters. He sent some of his men to go find the Lotus Eaters. The Lotus Eaters gave them food and a drink that was made of nectar from the Lotus flowers. The men didn't know that the nectar drink made them loose their urge to go home. But the Lotus eaters didn't mean to hurt the men, they just wanted to be nice. -

The Cyclops
Odysseus wanted to find out what lived on the island of the cyclops. The night he and his men arrived, the cyclops started following them, so they all scattered. The Cyclops wanted to know who they were, so Odysseus gave his identity. That night the Cyclops ate two of Odysseus's men and two more in the morning. While the cyclops went away in the morning, Odysseus and his men planned to stab the Cyclops with a branch to distract him while they escaped. -

Aeolus- Bag of Win
Aeolia was their next stop after the Cyclops and Aeolus was the wind God. Aeolus was very generous to Odysseus, so he gave him a bag of wind.He wasn't suppose to open the bag until he got back to Ithaca, but his men wanted to know what was in the bag. They thought Odysseus was the keeping gold for himself, so they opened the bag and let out the winds. The journey back home was much longer than expected and more difficult than expected. -

Sirens
Before Odysseus left Circe's island, she told him about Siren's island. She tells him how the creatures try to attract the men in with their singing, so that the people's ships would break on the rocks. Circe gave Odysseus some beeswax to put in the Oarsmen's ear so that the sounds from the creatures would be blocked out. At this location we learned that Odysseus and his crew are very caring. They tried all they could so that the oarsman wouldn't hear the sounds from the creatures. -

Suiters
When Odysseus finally arrived home, he decided to disguise his self as a beggar. He wanted to see who was on his side and if his wife would loyally recognize him. He tells his identity but makes it a secret. He hates seeing suiters in his home. Penelope is told to pick a suitor, so she makes a very hard task. Odysseus is the only one that complete's the task, then kills the suitors after they find his identity. She made Odysseus tell the story of their bed to make sure it was him, and it was.
