    Due to the fact that the book references the Akron Rubber Strike, the Joad's timeline must have taken place at least after 1936, and Rose of Sharron was supposed to bear child in winter but gave birth a month early there fore that places the start of the novel sometime around June.     Later on that evening the Joads meet the Wilson's

    Ma threatens the family with a jack handle causing everyone to worry about her mental stability.

    The sheriff came into Hooverville to try to find workers for his wealthy briber, caused a scene, the sheriff ended up shooting into the crowd and shot an innocent woman in the hand, then Tom went a kicked him. Casy took the fall so Tom wouldn't go back to McAlaster.

    Regrets coming to California, due to the fact that he did not want to live in Hoovervilles. He thought it was going to be sunshine and rainbows from the very start of the trip.

  • The Joads go back onto the road to go to weedpatch

  • Uncle John gets drunk for the first time since leaving home.

  • The first day at the Government camp Tom gets a job

  • The women's committee comes by and explains the camp to Ma.

    The sheriffs sent men into the camp to start a fight so they could come onto the property and arrest men and women, because with out a cause the sheriffs are not allowed on the camp property.

  • The Joads leave the government camp due to lack of work.

  • The Joads head to Maryville California from the government camp

  • While fixing a flat on highway 99 the Joads find peach picking work

  • The family sees a comotion outside of the peach orchard, which will later turn out to be Casy

  • Tom investigates the commotion in the front of the orchard
