Parisians storm Bastille (a prison symbolizing autocratic rule), beginning the French Revolution.

National Assembly adopts the Declaration of the Rights of the Man and Citizen, which guranteed liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression

The Great Fear, Peasants fearful of Nobles' outlaws who terrorized them. Peasants rioted, stormed Versailles, and demanded Louis and Marie Antoinette come to Paris

National Assembly disbanded and the Legislative Assembly created along with French Law. King has no power.

Revolutionary leaders turn on each other, and three factions form; Radicals, Moderates, and Conservatives
