Tennis Court Oath
The third (and biggest) state of commoners gets removed from the Estates General. Therefore, they form a national assably. They met several times in a tennis court and vowed to never stop until the French constitution changed. -
Storming of the Bastille
Extremely angry revolutionaries go and storm the Bastile. The whole point of this was to state the point that they were fed up with the monarchy, and wanted change. Weapons and gunpowder were attained. -
Declaration of the Rights of Man
It stated that alll men were equal by law. -
March on Versailles
Woman that worked in the Parisian market went all the way marching to Versailles to protest about the high price of bread and about the scarcity. -
Civil Constitution of the Clergy
This constitution is published and it states that they allow for theFrench government to control the church. Becasue the government was in a lot of debt and the ere needy of money, they start to sell land of the church. -
Royal Family attempts to flee
The Royal Family tries to escape from the people, but they are caught in Verannes, so they fore King Louis to go to trial -
Execution of King Louis XVI
After his trial, the King is sentenced to death. He gets killed in the guillotine in front of the people. -
Reign of Terror
This time period lasted from September 1793 to July 1794. Many people are sentenced to death casued by the confict of the two political parties: the Jacobins, and the Girondins. Maximilien(leader of Jacobins) becomes the leader of the Revolution. -
Execution of Robespierre
Since he (Maximilien Robespierre) is executed, all of his followers fall with him. Making the Giordins gain more power.
