    The National Assembly was forced to go somewhere other than they're regular meeting place.So, they moved to the indoor tennis court. After that, The Tennis Court Oath was made and it said that they wouldn't leave France until they had made a new constitution.
  • Storming of Bastille

    Storming of Bastille
    Bastille was attacked by a mob. They came for a huge ammunition stack in the prison walls. The governor denied them, and they took over the building and killed the governor. This symbolically marked the beginning of the French Revolution.
  • Civil Constitution of the French Clergy

    It was an attempt to basically change the Catholic Church in France. The National Constituent Assembly passed this constitution. It had also required clergy to swear to be loyal to the state.

From this, about two-thirds of adult men had the right to vote for electors. The constitution didn't last for more than a year.

    The Paris Commune was a democratic government that ruled Paris. It was formed by an armistice that had been signed between the Third Republic of France and the Prussians. The council of the Commune made socialist policies and many other things, until the French Army slaughtered tens of thousands of working Parisians.

    It was created after the Revolution of 1789 and after the monarchy was destroyed. This is also called the First Republic. It lasted until the French Empire in 1804 under Napoleon.
  • Louis XVI executed

    King Louis XVI was sentenced to death by the French National Convention. In August he was arrested along with his wife after escaping Paris. In January, a lot of people wanted Louis to get killed so he got convicted/condemned. January 21 was the day he died. On October 16, his wife Marie Antoinette was was convicted of treason and got killed.
  • Committee of Public Safety founded

    Committee of Public Safety founded
    It was set up when France was beset by foreign and civil war. It was created for safety for the nation against its enemies, foreign and domestic, etc. The members of the committee was switched every once and a while. Every time the members switched, the purpose of this committee was changed each time.
