King Louis XVI called up this assembly to help with the governments financial crisis. It was made up of representatives of the three estates. -
National Assembly
Voted to establish the National Assembly-leads to the Tennis Court Oath. -
Storming the Bastille
The Bastille prison was attacked by an angry and aggressive mob. The prison had become a symbol of the monarchy’s dictatorial rule. They thought the king was abusing his power in a negative way. -
Feudalism ended
The National Assembly announced the end of feudalism in France. This stopped the Church from collecting taxes and most importantly, stopped the forced labor from the poor peasants. This also allowed positions in Church, government, and army to be open to all citizens of France. -
Decleration of the rights of a Man and of the Citizen
The National Constituent Assembly finalized it. It is the rghts of the citizen at all times. Influenced by so many philosophers including thomas Jefferson. Still in tact today. -
Bread Riots
The bread riots started beceause of overpriced bread. Bread was really common in France, so the peasents were angry with the prices that they couldn't pay. The peseants rebeled and started to damage the equipment and the ingredients. It created chaos in France and the revolution grew. -
Legislative Assembly
It provided the focus of political debate and revolutionary law-making between the periods of the National Constituent Assembly and the National Convention. -
France declares war on Austria
On April 20 1792 France finally decided to declare war on Austria. Prussia formed an aliance with Austria so they could take down France. A new government called the Commune imprisoned the king and took over power. -
The Execution of Louis XVI
Louis XVI lead the monrachy to fall. He was in jail and then pled guilty. He then got executed. -
The Use of Gulliotin
Jean-Paul Marat wrote on a newspaper that the kings supporters must die. The National Convention replaced the Legislative Assembly.Louis was now a prisoner.
