The Estates General
The Estates General was a meeting of all of the estates to dissolve economic problems. It was called because the 3rd Estate was suffering. The one they called was the first one in 150 years. -

National Assembly
This was created because the 1st and 2nd Estate locked them out. This is an assembly made or formed by the representatives of the 3rd estate. By forming this they met up and made plans and locked the other two estates out. -
Tennis Court Oath
This was an oath that was made within the third estate only. They met at a tennis court and made an oath vowing to never separate and to reassemble whenever it is necessary. A huge part of this vow was to reassemble till a constitution was established. -
The Storming of the Bastille
The commoners raid the Bastille for stealing gunpowder and releasing prisoners. They also begin to dismantle the stronghold with their bare hands. One of the first major victories for the revolution. -
The Declaration of the Rights of Man
The Declaration of the Right of Man was very similar to the US Declaration of Independence. This was a document written for the citizen human right and in support of the French Revolution. From this the revolution was a success. -
Women's March on Versaille
The women marched onto Versailles and forced the king and queen to return to Paris. The women invaded the palace and overwhelmed the guards. They targeted the queen in order to threaten the king to surrender but couldn't find her. -
The Flight to Varennes
The King and Queen try to sneak out of France to escape the revolution but was found out miles from the border. They were given away just from one royalist who bowed to the royal family and the revolutionary guards noticed. They are sent back to Paris with discontent within the Royalist morale of repairing the monarchy. -
The Limited Monarchy
The National Assembly completes the Constitution of 1791. This gives more power to the people of France. This also gave the king less power. -
National Convention
Assembly created the Convention because at the demand of Robespierre. Otherwise there might have been I violent uprising. This was the most important point of the revolution. -
The September Massacres
There was a fear that foreign and royalist armies would attack Paris and that the inmates of the city's prisons would be freed and join them. Those that didn't join died. -
The Kingdom Falls
The monarchy is abolished. Robespierre gains the power. The French Republic is born. -
The King is Executed
King Louis XVI was executed. His head was paraded around the city. The Committee of Public was formed. -
The Beginning of the Reign of Terror
Rapid trials of any threats to the revolution. Any opposed to government was arrested and imprisoned. The royalty was tried for treason even during this time. -

The Queen Falls
In prison Marie Antoinette received luxuries leading up to the execution. The last queen of France was executed by guillotine. Shortly after this execution 6000 prisoners were all executed on the same day. -
Robespierre is Executed
Gave a violent speech against traitors within the Committee of Public Safety without naming the culprits. After being attacked by the people the committee arrested him. He is then executed with will be the last execution of the reign of terror. -
The Directory Replaces the Convention
The reign of terror is ended after the execution of Robespierre. The monarchy is now long forgotten. The directory is a new government to replace the Republic. -
