the General Estates voicesd the necessary requirement of a declaration. -
Storming of Bastille
the tower at Bastille was recognised amoung the crowd to be a symbol of the french Tyrany and Oppression. It was also a place where a large amount of gunpowder was kept. Finally, the crowds broke into riots with casuallities amounting to about 100 men, in this case, a few men from the french regiment were defective to the reign of King Louis the XVI so they opened the gates and helped the crowd to sucede. -
Women's March to Versailles
about 7000 women who were angry about bread prices, had marched to the Royal palace to riot against the Royal family. and by taking the palace, marched the family and other officials to Paris. this is where the saying "talking like a fish wife " comes from. -
Fight to varennes
The Royal Family, having connections in neighboring countries temporarily escaped revolutionary forces to make a run for it to Austria where there daughter had been born. Only a few miles from this, they were caught, This thought of a counter army had scared the revolutionaries to radical action and made the revolution grow. -
Champ de Mars Massacres
This was the radicalization of the revolution where a constitution was in the making for the to-be reppublic when some men were suspected of treason. the massacure that followed of 60 poeple eventually broke the revolution into two main groups. -
Storming of the Tuileries
The king himself, had been forced against his will to give a toast to this new nation wearing the red bonnet (the symbol of the revoltution). this was in essence, checkmate for king Louis XVI. -
The formation of the Insurrectionary Commune
a virtual parliment of France was fromed from the fourty-eight different local councils to be the rulers of france for the people. by the poeple. -
Overthrow of the Monarchy
The Highly outnumbered Monarchy had only but the Swiss Guard and its own National Guard. the crowd easily over ran the palace as well as the betrayal of the National Guard that made the Castle a more than easy capture for the Revolutionaries. The King was then turned over to the people. this allowed for all men to vote and as it was so, so did France become a repbulic. -
September Massacres
Due to the highly paranoid suspiscions that occured around this time of the "imminent invasion of the Austrian and Prussian forces", the French Republic had some conspiracy theorys of the denounced royalty to be plotting against the revolution which would have seemed to be unlikely. Many Prisoners (around 1200) were killed on the days of September 2-6 1792 -
Republic is declared
Finally, King Louis the XVI is overthrown and a new republic is born from the once revolution.
