The french people were upset because of the unfair taxation, unbalanced power, all the power would go to the king. They were also upset due to the lack of constitution and no representation.

    People believed that God would choose on who would be the king of the land, People did not like this because they did not get to choose who would be king and there was no food it was all going to the king. Montesquiu then believed that they should separate government and religion so one person wouldn't get power and so the people could choose the king.
