    Battle at Fort Duquesne
    English General Edward Braddock is defeated near Fort Duquesne by a mixed force of French and Native Americans of multiple tribes, including Delaware, Ojibwa, Ottawa, Pottawatomi, Shawnee and Hurons. Twenty-three-year-old George Washington is one of the survivors.

    The English officially declare war on the French.
  • Fort William Henry

    Fort William Henry
    The French and the Indians take over Fort William Henry.The British surrender and the fort is burned. The British who are left are massacred. This is one of the battles that shows just how strong the French and the Indians really are.
  • Battle of Quebec

    Battle of Quebec
    The English win the Battle of Quebec, where both General Montcalm and General Wolfe die. This is basically the battle that wins the war, because the English now control the St. Lawrence River, and can cut off all supplies to the French.
  • Surrender of New France

    Surrender of New France
    The French surrendered New France (Canada) to the British, which was another sign of the end of the war. However, it took a few more years to get out the official surrender, the Treaty of Paris.

    Pontiac's War Begins
    Ottawa chief Pontiac sends messengers to all of the Native American tribes between the Alleghenie and the Mississippi River, seeking their united support against the British. His plan was for each tribe to capture the nearest fort and then join forces to destroy the undefended settlements.

    Treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of Paris ends the French and Indian War. France gives all land east of the Mississippi to Britain including Canada. Spain gives Florida to Britain and recieves the Louisiana Territory in return. Spain also gets New Orleans from the French. France is basically kicked off the continent, and the British are declared the winners.
  • Pontiac's Rebellion Ends

    Pontiac's Rebellion Ends
    After unsuccessful attempts at overruling the British, Pontiac finally signed a treaty with them in 1766. Three years later he was killed by a group of Peoria Indians. His murder sparked a bitter warfare between his tribe and the Peoria Indians, and the Peoria's were nearly wiped out because of it.
