A bar In New York was raided by few police officers due to the fact that they saw men of the same sex dancing together. The police officers told the owners of the bar "If we see any more of the same sex dancing together, we will shut this bar down." This would spark gay people to start throwing out their opinion due to how mad they were. -

After Numerous times that gay people were treated wrongly and given a negative image by the public. The gays wanted to be able to show their affection for people of the same sex, and not encounter discrimination. They also wanted to be given rights. -

Harry Hay was greatly influential towards the LGBT group. He was a founder of the Mattachine Society which was the first sustained gay rights group in the United States. Also as the Radical Faeries, a loosely affiliated gay spiritual movement. -
The Spread Of Gay Pride
Multiple people involved with the gay pride group helped promote the LGBT club to different states and countries, Urvashi Vaid the executive director helped promote violations that have happened to gays and this would help with making presentations and protests. -
First Gay In Office
Kathy Kozachenko becomes the first openly gay American elected to public office when she wins a seat on the Ann Arbor Michigan City Council. By a gay being allowed in office this would really help change the negative image to some people. This would also give members of the LGBT oragaization more pride because people like they are being put in office. -
The Great Acts Of Harvey Milk
Gays during the prime time of the gay rights movement were being fired from their jobs due to the fact that their boss was against what they were for. In November 1976 Harvey Milk won a seat in San Francisco board of supervisors and was responsible for the act of gays not being able to be fired just because there. This helped secured many jobs for gays. -
The Great March On Washinton
On October 14, 1979 75,000 people participated in the march through Washington to help promote that an act to protect gays rights should be passed. -
What The LGBT Acomplished
The Group accomplished a lot. They could no longer be fired from their job because of them being gay. They were soon allowed to marry people of the same sex and not be discriminated for it, and be able to live a happy life
