The Japanese were cruel and treated the local Singaporians very harshly in the occupation, they would kill people that they thought were suspicious of might being spies even though they never were. -

The Japanese came to Singapore and bombed them after finishing their Malaya campaign and ambushing the British on bicycles after they bombed Singapore. -
