The economy becomes weak and inflation starts. Mediteranean pirates disrupt trade and enemies attack beyond the Roman frontier. As a result they continue to lose resources such as silver and gold and currency loses value -

Rome has overfarmed its land making it hard to provide food. Also the army starts to become nonloyal. This cuases a need for protection and Rome starts hiring mercenaries which are foreign. -

Constantine
First christain ruler of Rome as a result of trying to jumpstart the Roman empire, he moved the capital city of Rome to the eastern area and called it constantinople which later becomes the byzantine empire. -

Dark ages
Barbarians break through Romes walls and takes over. This forces the western Romans to settle somewhere else and causes slow failure. They start to lose everything and know nothing. -
Diocletian
Diocletian becomes Roman emperor. He decides that Rome is too big for one ruler and dvides Rome into eastern known as Greece and western Rome still known as Rome. -
