Augustus Caesar was the first emperor. Under his rule trade increased because he built roads, aquaducts, and bridges. Rome sold items more than buying therefor flourishing. Art and literature also flourished. He expanded the empire. -

Theodora was Justinians wife. When justinian tried to run away from being assassinated theodora stopped him by giving him a speech. After the speech justinian decided to stay and fight. The laws were called the 12 tables. The laws stated that anyone is innocent until proven guilty, the accused was permitted to face the accuser and offer a defence, and judges were expected to interpret the laws and make fair decisions. The laws were important to keep order in rome. -

Commodus was the first bad emperor. He used money for parties and entertainment which should have been used for military. He ended pax romana. Also he started the decline of the roman empire. To Gain money he killed rich people and stole thier money. To end his rule he was assassinated in 192 C.E.
