The First Saxophone
The Saxophone was invented by Adolphe Sax. It was most likely made of wood, however later on he quickly changed to making them out of brass. -
The Descendant
Even though Aldophe got a patent for his creation in 1846, it ended in 1866. Millereau Co. got the patent. This version had a forked F# key. -
The Next Descendant
Aldophe lengthened his patent on the sax. The bell became larger to accomodate Bb and A keys. He also added a fourth octave key, stretching the range. -
The Current Saxophone
Today, this is the current model of the Saxophone. Adolphe Sax made many versions of the Saxophone over his career, and this is the Alto Sax. There were many changes, but the most recent was in 1888. The four octave keys went down to just one easy octave key and roller keys were added for Eb and C. -
A Future Version of the Saxophone
This version is an alteration of the alto saxophone, one of the many saxophones created by Aldophe. A small speaker attached to the outside of the bell. The first mode is 'tuning mode'. The other mode is can detect errors. There is a small microchip to input music. Then, you can switch the speaker to 'playing mode' in order to detect errors, such as note length, pitch, volume, articulation, tone quality, etc. Finally, it comes with an earplug to hear a corresponding metronome while you play.
