    It was initially intended to be a file storage service and sharing site but transitioned into a social networking site that allows users to create profiles where they can share and express their interests with other people. It was founded by Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe.
    [Personal Insight] – By the time I started using the Internet, many other social media platforms were already arising so I never really got to experience using Myspace but I heard that it was similar to Facebook.

    A proprietary telecommunications application that allows the user to deliver text messages, voice and video calls via laptops or mobile phones. It was founded by Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis.
    [Personal Insight] – This has been a very helpful application throughout the years, especially when video calls were not yet featured on Facebook, because it allowed me to keep in touch with my relatives all around the world.

    A business and employment-oriented online platform that helps you find the right job or internship by showcasing your professional details and experiences. It operates via websites or mobile apps and was released under Ryan Roslansky.
    [Personal Insight] – I haven’t used this before because it is based in the U.S. however I think that the concept behind it is really clever and innovative because it makes employment much more efficient, plus the fact that you can learn new skills here.

    The very first blogging software, developed by Matt Mullenweg, was designed to be a blog content management system (CMS). It is free and open-source enabling the users to customize just about every aspect of their site.
    [Personal Insight] – I haven’t used this before because I’m not a blogger nor am I interested in it but I think it is an efficient and easy website to use if you want to create and maintain a blog without knowing how to use codes.

    A social media platform that allows users to create free profiles and connect with whoever they want online. It enables users to share pictures, videos, and articles along with their own opinions with whoever they want. It was founded by Mark Zuckerberg.
    [Personal Insight] – The majority of people use this app up until now and I am one of them. This app is a combination of everything so I could basically use just this one app all day and I wouldn’t get bored because it is the whole package.

    A free email service provided by Google. You can perform all the basic email tasks here such as sending and receiving emails, blocking, spamming, creating an address book, and others. What makes it unique is the huge storage space and more secured safety. It was created by Paul Buchheit.
    [Personal Insight] – I mostly use this for school purposes, especially now, given the circumstances were in and I have no complaints because it works just fine.

    A social networking service owned and operated by Google. It was designed to assist users in making new and maintaining current friendships. Orkut Büyükkökten, a Google employee, was the website's inventor.
    [Personal Insight] – This is another app I wasn’t able to use because it was already being overshadowed by other social media platforms during the time I started using the Internet and I believe that it wasn’t very famous in the Filipino community.

    A platform that is a combination of web content, social news, forum, and social network into one. Users can interact with other users and share common interests. It was launched by Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian.
    [Personal Insight] – I used to hear a lot about this website but never attempted to use it because as a child I was only introduced and allowed to use a few apps. By the time I was old enough to browse the Internet on my own, the website was no longer very relevant among my peers.

    A video-sharing platform that allows users to watch, like, share, comment on, and upload videos. Users can also subscribe to other users. It is accessible to PCs, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones. It was founded by Jawed Karim, Steve Chen, and Chad Hurley.
    [Personal Insight] – This platform will always be good no matter because it's not only useful for entertainment but also for learning. I really like the notification bell feature because it notifies me when a creator has published a video.

    Twitter is a social media platform with the primary goal of connecting people and allowing them to share their ideas with a large audience. Users can switch to a private account to protect their tweets. It was founded by Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone, Noah Glass, and Evan Williams.
    [Personal Insight] – This is my first app choice whenever I feel the need to rant because it has the option to keep your tweets private so only my followers can read what I post there.

    A social storytelling platform where users can publish their own writings as well as read and comment on the work of other writers. It was founded by Allen Lau.
    [Personal Insight] – I used to be so drawn to this app because some of my favorite authors publish their books here and it is a really good conversion from a reality.

    A microblogging site that lets users post text, photographs, quotes, links, music, and videos from their browser, phone, desktop, or email. It is a website that blends blogging and social networking into one. It was created by David Karp.
    [Personal Insight] – I remembering creating a Tumblr account but never actually using it because it is very similar to Twitter and I felt like it was pointless to use two apps with the same features, but it was just as good.

    The very first iPhone Steve Jobs released. It encompassed a Visual Voicemail, multi-touch gestures, HTML email, Apple's Safari web browser, threaded text messaging, an iPod music and video player software, a dedicated YouTube app, and a Google Maps-powered Maps app.
    [Personal Insight] – I’ve used this actual model before and I think that the only features that changed in every iPhone is the camera and a few added functions but the rest stayed the same.

    [Personal Insight] – I have a friend who studied abroad and this was the website their school used to track their performance which has the same functions as Aralinks.

    [Personal Insight] – This website can be really helpful when I encounter questions that I don’t understand. The answers that some people post helps me create my own ideas and understand the context better.

    [Personal Insight] – I tried downloading it before and it is very similar to Viber but since no one I know uses it I eventually deleted it from my phone.

    A free online photo-sharing app and social networking platform, bought by Facebook in 2012, allows users to edit and upload images and short videos. It used to be a solely visual-based platform but the new update now allows the exchange of messages and calls. It was founded by Kevin Systrom.
    [Personal Insight] – This app has been helpful to me in terms of photography because they have nice filters and you can also edit your pictures here before posting them which I think is very convenient.

    A visual discovery engine where people can get ideas and inspiration for their hobbies and interests. Every concept is represented with a Pin, which is a picture that you can find and save. It keeps them organized. It was created by Ben Silbermann.
    [Personal Insight] – I usually use this app to look for backgrounds for projects or wallpapers. It has a wide variety and I like the concept of pins because it is good for organizing the pictures I’d like to save based on their category.

    A free cross-platform instant messaging and VoIP program that allows you to call, video call, and chat with other Viber users from anywhere in the world. It was founded by the Rakuten Company.
    [Personal Insight] – I used to use this all the time to call my mom who works abroad because it functions like how a normal call would except you can call people overseas without having to pay or having to buy a roaming sim card.

    A mobile messaging application that allows users to send and receive photographs and videos (known as snaps) that are designed to vanish after being viewed. It was founded by Evan Spiegel, Reggie Brown, and Bobby Murphy.
    [Personal Insight] – This is a good app for casual conversations that you don’t mind not looking back at because the messages vanish after a while and it also has good filters with good editing options that is why I often use it for selfies.

    A mobile messaging app that allows users to communicate with their Facebook friends and phone contacts in more ways than just messages and calls such as group chat options and games. It was developed by Facebook, Inc.
    [Personal Insight] – Nowadays, this app is something I can’t live without because everyone I know uses it and I like the fact that you can create group chats because it comes in handy when you want to directly send a message to a group of people, especially for school.

    A cloud-based video communication network that can be used for video and audio conferencing meetings, webinars, meeting recordings, and live chat. It is now the most preferred video conferencing platform. It was founded by Eric Yuan.
    [Personal Insight] – Everyone knows how Zoom works and it is really efficient because we’ve been able to have classes here without troubles, except for when your Wi-Fi is slow. I like the fact that it can accommodate a huge number of participants.

    [Personal Insight] – It is a really fast and safe way to shop online and I like how they give you vouchers for discounts on future purchases.

    An application that, aside from transportations, offers food delivery and digital payments assigning private hire cars through a location-sharing system. It was founded by Anthony Tan and Tan Hooi Ling.
    [Personal Insight] – I really like this app because it is convenient for when you are outside and need a ride because you can pre-book your ride and by the time you get to the meeting place you won’t have to wait so long. It is also safe because they send you the driver’s details upon booking.

    An online messaging app that operates similarly to WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. This means that when connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data, it can be utilized to send messages or calls to your friends. It was founded by Pavel Durov.
    [Personal Insight] – This app is just like Messenger so I didn’t feel the need to keep using it but I did try it out and it worked fine.

    A software that allows you to build groups and communicate with them via talk, text, or video. It also saves your previous chats so you may resume the text conversation at any moment and refer to previous messages as needed. It was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin.
    [Personal Insight] – I haven’t used this website before because I find online group interactions awkward. I also had no reason to use it because none of my family or friends used it.

    An application where users can shoot 15-second to one-minute films in one or many shots, lip-syncing to sounds or making comedic videos which also allows editing. Videos can be shared publicly or privately. It was founded by Alex Zhu.
    [Personal Insight] – This app used to be so popular back then because making short videos was a trend. I used to just watch other people’s videos and occasionally made some of my own but I never posted them.

    A device capable of voice interaction, to-do lists, alarms, and other real-time information, such as news. Alexa can also act as a home automation system, controlling a variety of smart gadgets. It was created by Jeff Bezos.
    [Personal Insight] – We used to have this at home and it was really cool because you could actually talk to Alexa and ask her to do tasks for you, of course only things that can be done digitally.

    [Personal Insight] – I haven’t used this before because when it was published online learning was not much of a requirement yet and by the time it was, we used a different software for educational purposes.

    [Personal Insight] – This is very popular among my peers at the moment and I personally use it when I play with my friends. It has the same functions as Messenger but with slightly different features.

    A multinational platform that focuses mainly on e-commerce. It offers customers a secured online shopping experience with a variety of payment options. It was founded by Forrest Xiaodong Li.
    [Personal Insight] – This is my most used online shopping app because it is very generous in giving discount vouchers and I like the fact that you can collect coins daily which can then be used as a discount on your next purchase.

    Known for succeeding the app Musical.ly, is a video-sharing centered social networking service owned by Chinese business ByteDance. It allows users to create a range of short-form videos along and with with many other users. The founder is Zhang Yiming.
    [Personal Insight] – I find this app really entertaining because it is a more improved version of Musical.ly and there are many content creators nowadays that are really amusing.

    A paraphrasing and summarizing tool that helps millions of students and professionals cut their writing time in half by rewriting any sentence, paragraph, or essay using state-of-the-art AI. It was developed by Rohan Gupta.
    [Personal Insight] – This website is really helpful, especially when we had our research and we had to paraphrase almost everything from different articles.

    [Personal Insight] – I used to play this game a lot during vacation. It is really innovative that players have the option to talk to other players by simply enabling the microphone feature.

    An instructional technology integration program used for innovative teaching and effective learning. It supports 21st-century learning by combining pedagogy, technology, and learning spaces in a dynamic and effective way.
    [Personal Insight] – This website is really helpful because it’s easier to track my grades for every subject and to check if there are any pending schoolworks. I’m glad that they added the message feature because it can be hard to contact our teacher sometimes.
