In the 1920's the first helmets ever used where made out of leather and very dangerous with some padding inside. -
1930's
Soft helmets where used to try to reduce the impact of a collision the only helmets they could use after the war. -
1940's
the helmets in the 1940's where brittle but where the first helmets to be made out of plastic but the face bar popped off easily. -
1950's
The helmet was the same as the 1940's but the plastic helmet was more universal was used all around the league. -
1960's
the production of the leather helmets had stopped and plastic helmets where the only ones being used in the league. -
1970's
the creation of the micro fit helmet was suppose to absorb energy damage so it would be less of a blow on them. -
1980's
poly carbonate helmets where used to make it easier on the players. -
1990's
poly carbonate alloy plastic helmets where still in use. -
2000's
New football helmets where used the TPU It was very protective and keep things sanitary. -
2010's
Football helmets got a little worse and higher concussions are happening but they are still protective.
