The Origin of Species
Charles Darwin officially publishes his findings on the theory of evolution and natural selection. The title of the book is "On the Origin of Species". For its time this was a very controversial idea since it clashed with the ideas of creationism in many ways. His findings asserted that through natural variations in species, animals made small changes over time which led to the evolution of species. -

At the age of 73, Charles Darwin dies in Downe, United Kingdom of congestive heart failure leaving behind 10 children and his wife, Emma Darwin.
