First released in Japan as an arcade game. It quickly came into homes with a revisited and revamped power pad -
Geo Cashing
After the removal of "selective availability" The first GPS container was placed in Oregon in 2000. This game was geared to get people out of the house entirely as the the issue with obesity took hold early in the decade. -
The Wii
The first system that encouraged total movement of the user for the experience. The Bowling game was the best. There was a huge, but short-lived, trend in the humans being the controllers. -
The Kinect
A breakthrough in augmented reality. The little system tracked the movements of the user. Entertaining as it includes the actual user and not the avatar and gives an interactive experience. -
Oculus Rift
The next step in turning humans into the controllers themselves. The graphics in some instances are better than real life. Completely interactive, completely immersive. There is a huge push for this technology to become more affordable to consumers. -
Pokemon GO
A spin off of the not so popular Geo cashing.
This is a free to play location based augmented reality game.
It really took of. Meant to get kids outside and moving. Huge craze, to the point of people dying. No joke.
