    The French and Indian War
    1756-1763 The french and Indian War was a series of battles that took place in North America. During the 1st two years the french and their Idian allies defeted the british numorous times. In 1756, when William Pitt became the secartary of state this change and the war endded on Febuary 10th, 1763. Sources:

  • The Suger Act

    The Suger Act
    Using salutary neglect on the colonies Lord Grenvile wanted to have the colonies obay what Britian and pay taxes by having the navel forces present and more active in enforcment at the colonies. The sugar act took down some tax rates but they were enforced very strictly by Grenvile. Everything the colonies had got that wasn't from Britian was taxed more heavly. This made the income of the colonies drop.

    Using salutary neglect George Grenvile offered 55 resolutions to the stamp bill. The bill was passed feb. 17, 1765. This was parliments 1st serious attempt to assert government athority over the colonies.   • Patrick Henry's "Treason" Speech

    Patrick Henry's "Treason" Speech
    In Patrick Henry's speech he critizised parliment and the king. He was comparing the king to past kings who had been assasinated, the people who noteced this yelled out treason. Later he explained his loyalty to the king. But, the over weeks time word spread and unnotecied Virginia and Hemry were widly praised for their defense of american rights.   • The Townshend Revenue Act

    The Townshend Revenue Act
    In 1767 Charles Townshend proposed a new way to collect taxes from the colonies.(mercantilism) The Acts were passed early june and active November 20th.   • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    The riot began with 5o colonist's attacked a British unit. After a little while and Captian Thoamas Preton called back up they shot into the crowd killing 3 and wounding 8 others two of who died a few days later. When prosecuted the captin and his men walked away inocent. Later two of the men were found guilty of manslaughter.

    The first meeting was held in Cartenters Hall, Philidelphia. All the colonies sent delegates except Georgia. The first weeks were consumed by disscussion and debates. On Ocyober 20th a pact was made for nonimportation of english goods to establish mecanisms throught the colonies to enfore and regulate rebelion and it would only stop if the British resided intolrebal acts.   • Galloway's Plan Rejected

    The Rides of Paul Revere and William Dawes
    Revere was sent to warn Samuel Adams and John Handcoock that the British were coming to arrest them. After had done that he and William Dawes decided to continue to Concord and Massachusetts were wepons were stored. They were both capture by the British and later let go.     The Decleration of Independence
    The "birthplace" of the Independence was in Independece Hall, Philidelphia. It is famous for saying "All men are created equal", but it was also a 28 count Inditment against King George and the way the British treated them d that they were now a free country.
