First battle fought on the northern front during the war. Have over 20,000 casualties. A Union victory. Caused Abraham Lincoln to issue the Emancipation Proclamation just five days later on the September 22. -

Issued five days after the victory at the Battle of Antietam on September 22, 1862. -

A 3 day battle between the union and the confederates. Resulting in a union victory. Is consider a very important battle that was fought. Resulted in one of Abraham Lincoln's most famous speech the Gettysburg Address. -
Gettysburg Address
Delivered on November 11th 1863. Speech was dedicated for the fallen at the cemetery in Gettysburg. It gave Lincoln a chance to express his ideas/point of view on the involvement/reason for the war.
