Early Modern English - Printing press
William Caxon set up the first printing press. Books could now be produced much more easily and go out to the "people".
Therefore the written language had to be more understandable so everyone could read it. Before there wasnt any specific way to spell or grammar rules -
Early Modern English - Shakespeare and The King James Bible
Shakespeare and The King James Bible have introduced a lot of prases and idoims, to the English Language, there can give an idea of how early modern english was. Idioms like: green-eyed jealousy, eat sour grapes , new wine into old botles, where phrases you used in the 17th century and some of them we still use today -
American English
When AMerica gained its independence form Britain, they made a new language. There is not a lot of diffrene but there a som spelling differences and then the Americans use different words for some things. -
Modern English
A lot of new words were added to the English vocabulary because of a lot of social, technological and economic developments.
Words like: watt, clausophobia and coaine, were words that came in the 19th century -
Global English
English is a big part of many people lives today. Almost everyoe can speak it and many countries, who does not speak English as a native language, have it ine school. It is often the language people use, when they come from two different not native english speaking countries
