Ming rulers did not want to rule. The reason for government had been wiped out late in the dynasty. Alot of people went into poverty and debt. The peasents had to rent land so they could farm and they had to pay the rent with crops. After alot of famine a rebellion broke out and invaded the capital. In 1644, the Manchus leader, Li Tzu-ch'eng, attacked Bejjing. Without much resistance they entered the city, and the Ming dynasty fell. The last emperer hanged himself.
