    My Responce to Pearl Harbor
    Pearl Harbor
Early one morning on a harbor on the island of O'ahu Hawaii, America's Navy base was attacked by Japan. This attack changed America's involvement in World War 2.
I was sitting in the Oval Office when I got the news that my country had been attacked by Japanese. Later that day I stood infront of my nation and told them, "We are all in it- all the way."

My Way Of Preventing Attacks Back Home
    Preventing Attacks
Days after the Japanese attacked Pearl Horbor, Americans started to fear Japanese-American citizens would be loyal to their motherland.
I had to protect my country and the citizens living in it. I knew there were spys living among us, watching America's every move. I couldn't let "enemy" alians to continue to spy so I let the FBI warn against posseision of cameras and guns.
  • My Executive Order: 9066

    My Executive Order: 9066
    9066
Two months after the attact, Roosevelt signed Executive order 9066. It's main purpose was to designate "military areas", but it turned int something more.
I tried to make Order 9066 as neutral as possible.I didn't want to have to force nearly 110,000 Japanese Americans into infernment camps, but it had to be done to protect America.
  • 9102: War Relocation Authority

    9102: War Relocation Authority
    9102
President Roosevelt signed another excetive order. This time the order established the War Relocation Authority.
In order for me to provide for the removal for designated areas of persons whose removal is neccary in the interest of national security. I have to ordr 9102. It will establish a Direct of appointed by and responsible to the President.
  • Public Law 503: Obey My Commanders

Public Law 503: Obey My Commanders
    503
Once Exective Order 9102 was put in order Japanese Americans had to abide by certain rules. Public Law 503 contributed to that order by making it a fedural offense to violate any order issued by a designated military commander.
I wanted to streghtn Exective Order 9102. I put Public Law 503 in place sp Japenese Americans wouldn't have power against my military.
  • Japenese American Combat Team: They're Still American

Japenese American Combat Team: They're Still American
    Combat Team
Japenese Americans weren't allowed to enlist in the U.S. military because they were still considered "enemy aliens." Enough they weren't allowed to join they still wanted to be apart of the military.
I have allowed Secretary of War, Henry Stimson, to form an all Japanese American combat team. These citizens still have American pride and will get a chance to show it while being apart of the combat team.
  • Army Recruitment: Racially Segregated

    Army Recruitment: Racially Segregated
    Recruitment
The loyalty of Japenese Americans was highly questioned. Those who were 17 years old or older were tested to see how loyal they really were.
I know there sre still loyal Japenese Americans, but I don't know who they are, I have ordered WRA to test those that say they are true Americans. Those who past will be put in a racially segregated U.S. Army unit.
  • D-Day: Our Battle for Normandy

    D-Day: Our Battle for Normandy
    D-Day
D-Day is the day that America, Britian, and Canada forces landed in Normandy. The goal was to take the country away from Nazi Gemany"s control.
I ordered U.S. troops to go into Normandy. The Nazis were becoming too strong. They were about to take over Europe. I as a president couldn't let that happened. D-Day was the first step to taking down Hitler.
  • The End Is Near

    The End Is Near
    Ending internment
Japenese Americans had been in interment camps for years. Major General Henry C. Pratt announced that beginning Januaray 2, 1945 Execative Order 9102 would be put to an end.
I have agreed to end interment camps. We believe we will win the war with Japan by the end of 1945. When we do Japanese Americans will be able to back to their homes and live as normal Americans.
  • Victory over Japan

    Victory over Japan
    V-J Day
For years America was fighting Japan due to what happened at Pearl Harber. After bombing thie country to ruins, japan finally surrendered to America. This surrender ended World War 2.
Japan has surrenered to American forces. We went over there to fight and get victory for all of those we lost at Pearl that day. We've made them proud America. I believe I have done my job as your President. I am proud to say I am an American.
  • Tule Lake Center: The last ofThem All

Tule Lake Center: The last ofThem All
    Tule Lake Center
All Japenese American Center were closed a couple months after World War 2 was offically over. The last one standing was Tuke Lake Center. Most the people there answered "no" on the loyalty questions.
I know our war with Japan is over but there still are unloyal Japanese Americans. Those who answered "no" on the loyalty questions should still be watched over because they might America at anytime.
