    Haudenosaunee Confederacy

    The Haudenosaunee started out as the Five Nations, became the Six Nations in 1722. They lived and acted upon Haudenosaunee policies which allowed them to live on the reserve or off until the federal government became involved in 1924, changing the policies. But to this day, the Haudenosaunee follows their own polices and ways.

    Ancient Greek Democracy developed around the fifth century BC, in Athens. Made up of the city of Athens and the surrounding territory of Attica, and is the first known example of universal democracy in the world.

    The Renaissance was known to be the rebirth of people wanting to learn about ancient Roman and Greek times. It was also known as the start of the modern age. Things such as books, that was once only available to the higher classes, were now available to even merchants.

    Industrial Revolution

    The industrial revolution was a period of time where predominantly agrarian, rural societies began to turn industrial and urban. Moving on from hand tools or basic machines; industrialization brought about special purposed tools etc. But that was not the only thing it improved; the industrial revolution also improved working and employment conditions for the poor and working classes.

    Changes to class system
    As classical liberalism took a more dominate role, society began to change as we knew it began to change. Social classes were slowly getting demolished. This meant more economic opportunities, ones that had previously not been present before, allowing them to become wealthy and join a higher economic class. An idea that was unheard of before.

    Magna Carta

    Magna Carta
    This document signed by King John after negotiations with his barons and their French and Scots allies.There they sealed the Magna Carta. It established a council of 25 barons to see John kept to the clauses, including access to swift justice, parliamentary assent for taxation, scutage limitations, and protection from illegal imprisonment. It has influenced English law down to the present day. It is recognised as a cornerstone of the idea of the liberty of citizens.

    Reformation

    Reformation refers to a series of events that happened in the 16th century in the Christian Church. Because of the corruption within the Catholic Church, some people saw a need to change the way it worked. Religious posts were often sold to whoever was willing to pay the most money for them. This meant many priests did not know much about Christianity. So they told the people many different things. Some of the things had little to do with what was written in the Bible.

    The American Revolution was a colonial revolution that took place that allowed the American Patriots in the Thirteen Colonies to win independence from Great Britain, and become the United States of America. Much like Ancient Greek Democracy, it was the first known stance against the colony system that long existed.

    The French Revolution was a long, significant period of social and political upheaval in France and its colonies. The Revolution overthrew the monarchy, established a republic and catalyzed violent periods of political turmoil. The Revolution contributed to the development of classical liberalism in France by triggering the global decline of absolute monarchies while replacing them with republics and liberal democracies.
