It was originally designed to support england and so they could become comenative in fur trade. -

There where multiple merchants who had posts on rivers and in this year they came together and formed the North West Company. -
Metis Settle in Red River Valley
They settled here and near the Assinboine rivers and developed there ways of life and there traditions. This place is currently southern Manitoba. -
Founding of the Selkik Settlement
Selkrik brought many people to Canada and they found the red river valley. By setteling here they could farm and manintian the way of life they were used to. -
The Pemmican Proclamation
In the red river valley there was pemmican which was a good source of food for the colinists and it was there main source of food so this proclamation was sent out, preventing them to being able to export this food becuase the colinists needed it to survive so they wouldn't starve. -
Battle of Seven Oaks
The confirmation lead to this battle. Twenty one colinists and one metis died. It caused dispute and there was a full scale of conflict. -
Selkrik Died
He died in england durning the time he was dealing with court cases. -
HBC and NWC Merge
Both companies were near backrupsy and didnt have enough furs. So they merged because the british government feared they would loss control if both companies failed. -
Metis list of rights is created
The National Metis commitee supported these rights and was created to fight for the rights inculding the rights of there land. -
Red river ressintance
It was many events that lead up to the Metis attempt to get recognition of their rights and self government. -
Canada buys Ruperts Lands
Canada made an agreement to join ruperts lands with the north-western territory. It is now named the north-west territories. -
Manitoba enters Confederation
Thay had much discussion and on this day it was passed by the house of commons that Manitoba could be a province. -
Execution of Thomas Scott
He was found guilty of treason and it was a very corrupt court case but in truthfulness he wasn't guilty.
