The Warsaw Pact is created as a defense treaty between the Soviet Union and seven Soviet Union satellite states in Cental and Eastern Europe. -
Spy Plane Shot Down
The very first U.S. spy plane is shot down over the USSR. The meeting that was supposed to take place between the U.S. leader, and Soviet leader was made a month early. The CIA had guarenteed the president that the USSR did not have any anti-aircraft weapons. -
Bay Of Pigs
In the Bay of Pigs the attempted mission by the United States CIA was to have American men invade Cuba. The attempt was failed military invasion. -
Cuban Missle Crisis
The United States and the Soviet Union take part in a 14 day military standoff about the placing of military missles in Cuban territory, which would only by 90 miles from United States territory. -
America Loses a President
On November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas, President John F. Kennedy is shot and killed. America was in the middle of the Cold War with the USSR, and now we had just lost our president. -
The Race To The Moon
The United States of America in race to the moon with the USSR, becomes the first country to put a man on the moon. In 1961 the USSR was the first country to put a man into outer space. The U.S. saw this as a threat and knew the needed to land Apollo 11 onto the moon. -
A New President
In the midst of a crisis the United States elects John F. Kennedy as the new president. He is given the responsibility of the Cold War. -
The Wall Falls
A large turning point in the Cold War was when the Berlin Wall finally came down that stood for so long seperating East from the rest of the world. One side of the wall was a communist country, and seen as a dark place. The West was scene as better living conditons, and did not fall under communist rule. -
THE END
After countless years of strategic military, and political planning. People living in constant fear of communist spies the Cold War comes to an end when the USSR becomes no more.
