The Truman Doctrine
The Truman Doctrine was established by Harry S. Truman which proved economic, political, and military assistance to all the countries that are under external or internal authoritarian forces. This helped prevent Greece and Turkey falling to the communist rule. This gave the U.S. a foot hold to streak the S.U. if they needed to do so. This was also used to stop the spread of communism. -
The Marshall Plan
The Marshall Plan was to aid western Europe which the U.S. gave $13 Billion dollars for the aid of the countries. This was given to the United Nations to help the economy in Europe. This helped boost Europe and help to stop the spread to other countries in Europe. -
China Becomes Communist
The Chinese conflict between the communist leader Mao Zedong and the Nationalist leader Chiang Kai-shek. The U.S.allying with the Nationist to stop the spread of communism in the idea of Containment. The Nationalist leader was corrupt but the U.S. still helped them in order to try winning against the Mao Zedong. In the end the communism won and the China government in now a communist one. -
The Korean War
This was a war between the North and South Korea. The North being Communist and South being Republic.
The U.S supported the South and S.U. supported the North. The U.S. was trying to stop the spread of Communism. In the end the war ended with the North staying in the Communist government and South staying Republic Government. -
Rosenberg Spy Case
The Rosenberg case was a case which a couple, Ethel and Julius Rosenberg were accused of selling nuclear secrects to the S.U. They were accused of espionage and soon killed for their crimes. The Rosenbergs had team that helped them get the secrects to the S.U. The other members were Emanuel and Alexander Bloch and this lead to the S.U. using their first nuclear bomb on September 1949. -
Vietnam War
The Vietnam War was a battle in which the communist rule had spread to the North of Vietnam and was trying to spread to the South Vietnam. The U.S. was the ally of South Vietnam and the North Vietnam didn't have an ally in the war. The U.S. was only helping South Vietnam to stop the spread of communism. In the war 3 million people had lost their lives and half being civilians. -
U.S. sends a man to the moon
The Cold War Between the S.U. and U.S. was a war with a different litte war in it and one of them was the Space Race. It was a race to see who could be in space before the other. The S.U. got a satellite in space first but the U.S. got a man on the moon first. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first people to be in space and on the moon.
