    Berlin Airlift
    The Berlin Airlift was one of the first major international crises of the Cold War. During the multinational occupation of post–World War II Germany, the Soviet Union blocked the Western Allies' railway, road, and canal access to the sectors of Berlin under Western control. The Berlin Airlift started on June 24, 1948 and ended on May 12, 1949. This happened because the United States and United Kingdom responded by airlifting food and fuel to Berlin from Allied airbases in western Germany.

The Korean war was a war that started because North Korean's Army invaded South Korea against the generals on the 38th parallel. The Korean war was less known about because it was happening during World War I and World War II so no one really payed attention to this war. Nearly 5 million people died because of this war and over 40,000 Americans were killed and about 100,000 Americans were wounded.

    The Vietnam War started on November 1, 1955 and it ended on April 30, 1975. This war was a very long war that lasted 20 years and it was very expensive too. It was the second of the Indochina Wars and was officially fought between North Vietnam and South Vietnam. The U.S entered this war because so they could stop the spread of communism.

The Berlin Wall was then taken down on November 9, 1989 because Mikhail Gorbachev, was convinced that the Soviet Union needed reform. He instituted disarmament and a winding down of Cold War confrontations in Europe as preconditions to his reforms.

    The Soviet-Afghan War started on December 24, 1979 and ended on February 15, 1989. This war was a protracted armed conflict fought in the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan.It was fighting between the Soviet Union, the DRA and allied paramilitary groups against the Afghan mujaheddin, foreign fighters, and smaller groups of anti-Soviet Maoists.
