All East Germany didn't participate. Many people were killed and 500 were wounded. The invasion was stopped by Alexander Dubcek's Prague Spring liberalization. Alexander's resignation became the first secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. The Soviet's foreign policy era was knows as the Brezhnev Doctrine.
