Peace settlement signed to end WW1. Because of the terms that were in this treaty, Germany became very upset, and this eventually lead to WW2. -

Treaty made after WW1 to ensure that war never broke out again. The U.S. didn't join the League because they thought that it was useless and that it would eventually end in failure. -
MAD
The idea that if a population is attacked by another country with nuclear weapons, then they are allowed to fire their nuclear weapons also. This would eventually end in the destruction for most countries. -

Winston Churchill gave this speech and decribed an "Iron Curtain" referring to the division between the Western powers and all of the other countries that were under Soviet control. -
Baruch Plan
The U.S. presented this plan to the United Nations to try and control the use of atomic weapons, but this plan did not get passed. This resulted in the arms race between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. -

Eight months after the Bay Of Pigs invasion, Fidel Castro announced that Cuba is now in a communist state. -
Bay of Pigs Invasion
When Fidel Castro and heis guerrilla army invaded Cuba and the American-backed president there and took over power, the U.S. got angry and brought 1,400 U.S. troops to Cuba to remove Castro. -

During the early years of The Cold War, East Germany often fled to West Germany in an attempt to flee communism. But after Berlin was split into four zones, communist West Germany quickly put up a wall. -
Cuban Missle Crisis
America spotted missles pointed at the U.S in Cuba, put there by the Soviets. The U.S then put missles in Turkey, aiming them at the Soviet Union. JFK and Krushchev eventually reached an agreement and they both removed their missles. -

The U.S sends troops to Vietnam in response to the Gulf Of Tonkin insident in 1964, President Johnson, decided to escalate the tensions in Vietnam by sending over American troops. -

Fall of Saigon
The North Vietnamese army reached the outskirts of Sagion and began attacking. The South Vietamese then surrendered and Sagion fell to the rule of North Vietnam. -

It is believed that he helped end communism in the Soviet Union by starting a trade union called Social Soliditary. He died on April 2, 2005. -

Fall of the Berlin Wall
East Germany Communist Party announced that anyone could pass as they please. People began to pass into West Berlin, bringing their own toold to help chip away at the wall and pass freely. -
START 1
First treaty to make reductions in nuclear weapons between thye U.S and the Soviet Union. It had a duration of 15 years if all the parties agreed and it was meant for the predictability and stability to contain nuclear weapons. -
START 2
Elimiated ICBMS and reduced the amount of strategic nuclear weapons that both weapons had. This treay reduced the amount of arms by 2/3 the amount of START 1.
