Western Allies organized this after the Berlin Blockade, to carry supplies to West Berlin's people. 200,000 flights were flown in one single year, providing many tons of necessities, like food and water. This was the first artificial Earth Satelliate. The Soviet Union launched this satellite in low Earth orbit. This was the start of the "Space Race" with the United States. The satellite traveled about 29,000 kilometers per hour. It spent 3 months in orbit before it burned on January 4th, 1958. -

The second spacecraft to be launched into Earth's Orbit. This was the first to carry a dog (named Laika), let alone a living being! The speed on orbit of it was 4.576 miles per second. -

USS Pueblo Incident (AGER-2)
USS Pueblo was an American technical research ship. It was boarded and captured by North Korea on January 23rd, 1968. This is the third ship named after Pueblo County, Colorado. Commander Lloyd M. Bucher was the commanding officer of the USS Pueblo. This is the only U.S. Navy ship still being held captive today. -

Korean Air Lines Flight 007
On this day the airline server was shot down by a Soviet interceptor near Moneron Islands. All 269 people including crew members and passengers on that flight had died. This flight was scheduled to through Korean Air Lines and go from New York to Seoulvia Anchorage. -

This was a nuclear accident that occurred at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine. This was the most powerful and horrific nuclear power plant disaster in history because of the exstensive costs and this significant number of deaths. -

Otherwise known as the June Fourth Incident. This incident started as a protest but shortly turned into a massacre by troops with rifles and tanks. The troops even shot at innocent people. -

This treaty consisted of 3 things: 1. Non-Profliferation, 2. Disarmament, 3. The Right to Peacefully use Nuclear Technology. The objective of this treaty is to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and weapon technology.
