    On May 8,1945 Germany surrendered to the red army in Berlin. This was a cultural action because lots of people celebrate this day because of the victory. There was officially no more Hitler, he killed his self which left the German Admiral Dontiz to surrender.

    The Marshall Plan
    The Marshall Plan was an economic action that was in support of rebuilding European economies after the end of World War II to prevent Soviet Communism from spreading. The European Recovery Program (ERP) played a crucial role in the beginning of the Cold War, this program was the one of the first elements of the European Integration Process. The U.S goal was to rebuild a region, remove trade barriers, modernize the industry, and to make Europe prosperous again.
  • Warsaw Pact

    Warsaw Pact
    The Warsaw pact is a militaristic action. It was formed to keep the countries in order and to create the NATO. The members in the pact pledged to defend each other if one or more of them were under attack but this was quickly changed because the soviet union controlled mostly all of the Pact's decisions.

    In the 1950's Fidel Castro organized an armed rebellion against the corrupt dictator who later ruled Cuba. This political action transformed the country and turned Cuba into the first communist state in the Western Hemisphere.

    The Bay Of Pigs Invasion
    The Bay of pigs invasion was an act supported by John F. Kennedy. Because Cuba was the only country in the Western hemisphere to adopt the ideas of communism, the U.S felt threatened. Kennedy's invasion failed when Catsro's forces captured the invaders. Castro was getting closer with another source of power; The Soviet Union. Him linking himself with the Soviet Union led to a conflict between Cuba and the United States which then led to the missile crisis.
  • The Cuban Missile Crisis

    The Cuban Missile Crisis
    In 1959 there were Nuclear Missiles being shipped to Cuba, this was a technology action. The United States armed forces and Soviet field commanders were ready to use nuclear weapons to defend the island from the missiles, but thanks to President Kennedy a naval blockade was set up and he demanded the missiles to be stopped. The Russians agreed to remove the weapons on October 14th and war was averted. The U.S did not invade Cuba since the Nuclear Missiles were stopped from being shipped to Cuba.
  • The Berlin Wall Toppled

    The Berlin Wall Toppled
    Everyone saw that the Communist block was falling apart and needed to have a moderate change but the East German leaders insisted that there was no need for them to start all over and have a revolution because one change was all it will take. The citizens were strongly disagreeing with his statement and new things opened to East Germans who wanted to flee to the West as the communism started to falter in Poland. This event will be like a sports action because people had to bring the wall down.
