1945 Feb. Yalta Conference
The Yalta Conference took place in a Russian resort town in the Crimea from February 4–11, 1945, during World War Two. At Yalta, U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin made important decisions regarding the future progress of the war and the postwar world.

JULY - AUGUST 1945 DROP THE ATOMIC BOMBS
On July 16, 1945, the world's first atom bomb was exploded at Alamagordo, New Mexico. The atomic bombs is arguably one of the most important and good things we decided to do because we used it against Japan. We fired "little boy" and it killed between 50,000 to 70,000 people in Japan.

1946 February 9: Stalin hostile speech
February 9, 1946: Joseph Stalin, at a meeting of Voters of the Stalin Electoral District, Moscow, declared that communism & capitalism were incompatible. March 5, 1946: The Iron Curtain
This was a speech by Winston Churchill on 5 March 1946, at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri while he was on a visit to USA. In the speech, Churchill said that behind an "Iron Curtain" were all the capitals of central and Eastern Europe, and that they were under the control of Moscow.

March 24, 1946: Iran
this deadline came in early 1946, the Soviets, under Joseph Stalin, remained in Iran and local pro-Soviet Iranians proclaimed a separatist People's Republic of Azerbaijan.The Soviet Union pledged to withdraw their troops from Iran, but remained for several more weeks. March 12 1947: Truman Doctrine
The Truman Doctrine arose from a speech delivered by President Truman before a joint session of Congress on March 12, 1947. Truman asked Congress to provide assistance for Turkey, since that nation, too, had previously been dependent on British aid.

The Berlin blockade 24 June 1948– 12 May 1949 was one of the first major international crises of the Cold War.The day 19 June 1948 announcement of the new Deutsche Mark, Soviet guards halted all passenger trains and traffic on the autobahn to Berlin.

The divison of Germany
Allies divided "Occupation Zone Germany" into four military occupation zones France in the southwest, Britain in the northwest, the United States in the south, and the Soviet Union in the east. Germans were living in territory that after the dismemberment of Germany became part of post war Poland and Soviet Union

1950 Civil rights
Because of segregation, she has to travel by bus to a more distant school for African-American children. Education descides on segreation schools. this changed so many rights for black.

American history, black demonstrations swept the country seeking constitutional equality at the national level, as well as an end to Massive Resistance in the South. -
Bay of pigs
On January 1, 1959, a young Cuban nationalist named Fidel Castro drove his guerilla army into Havana and overthrew General Fulgencio Batista, the nation’s American-backed president. 1500 outcasts from Cuba with the backing of Kennedy and the police. They invaded Cochinos Bay - the Bay of Pigs but they over estimated the support they would receive from the civilians on the island. All 1500 of them were either killed or seriously injured.

Womens rights
The Women's movement effected change in Western society, including the right to initiate divorce proceedings and no fault divorce, right of women to make individual decisions regarding pregnancy, and the right to own property. Women wanted to work some corporate job everyday.

Election
The United States presidential election of 1960 was the 44th quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 8, 1960. The United States presidential election of 1960 marked the end of Dwight D. Kennedy ran against Goldwater. Kennedy's campaign was focused on how Goldwater would bring about a nuclear holocaust with the Soviet Union.
