Atomic Bomb- Hiroshima / Nagasaki (August 6 and 9)
The Manhatten Project was the collaboration of scientists to make the Atomic bomb functional. The president of the United States Truman, advised his soldiers that if they were to attack Japan there would a tremendous amount of American men casualties. Truman bombed Hiroshima then three days later bombed Nagasaki so that Japan can surrender. In the end, Japan leader Hirohito surrender to the U.S. due to economic and lives depression. -
Potsdam Conference (July 1945)
The Potsdam Conference was planning what to do with German and Polland after World War Two. President Truman and Winston Churchill were on the one side to determine political freedom and democratic government. Stin was determined to dominate Europe and impose communism. -

The Iron Curtain was a barrior separating Europe into two parts. The Soviet Union wanted to isolate itself. -
NATO (The North Atlantic Treaty Organization) (April 4, 1946)
NATO is an organization consisting of 29 members over north America and Europe. This treaty purpose was to defend each other from communist like the soviet union form taking their nation. -

To help rebuild eastern Europe countries that when the Soviet Union stepped in. The Soviet Union aided Europe political and economically. -

The Soviet Union limit the ability of the United States, France, and Great Britain to traval to Berlin where their sectors where. Germany blocked Berlin no one could get in or out without there permission. Berlin was on the brink of total starvation. -

In 1961 the United States sent trained Cuban exiles to Cuba to try and overthrow Fidel Castro's government. They failed. Their importance was to try to prevent communism from taking hold of Americans.
