The Six Pillar of Peace is rule that must be follow to bring peace to the world.The sixth pillar states that peace must guarantee the religious freedom of all individual. This demonstrates Religion in the GASPIRE+ theme because religious freedom had to become a goal to bring peace among countries. But, during the Cold War, it seems like there were religion was the focus but beliefs on communism and democracy. -
The Bombing of Hiroshima
The U.S drops a atomic bomb on Hiroshima and about over 100,000 civilians were killed. the atomic bomb has still greatly impacted Hiroshima because of the radiation effect on the civilians. This is an example of Social from GASPIRE theme because it demonstrate how the bomb is stilled in effect on the Hiroshima civilians today.The US and Soviet leaders signed a treaty banning the testing of nuclear weapons. This was one of the reason it ending the Cold War. -
Yalta Conference
The Yalta Conference was a place where the allied Leaders agreed to govern Germany after WWII. in which Germany was divided into four parts. After World War II, the United Nations is formed. It consisted of winners of World War II. It was formed in order to prevent conflict between state. This is an example of political from GASPIRE+ theme because it was formed by leaders in order to prevent further conflict in the future. This eventually lead to the united nation to be useless because the Soviet union would veto anything the U.S suggest. -

Russia conducted their first test with atomic bomb. They created their atomic bomb from U.S data on atomic bomb by using their spies. Greece and turkey are in danger of falling into communism. President Truman gets $400 millions dollars from congress to aid both countries to fight communism. This is an example of economics from GASPIRE+ theme because the President spent $400 millions dollars, which might be a big tole on the U.S. This action cause the U.S to lose money to communism, which essentially increased the tension between democratic and communism. -
Marshall plan
The secretary of state, George Marshall, plan to rebuild Europe from the cause of WWII. George Marshall planned to offer money to Europe in order for them to rebuilt what they lost. This is an example of Economic from GASPIRE+ because the U.S is offering millions of dollars to rebuild Europe. This could impact the U.S usage of money during the Cold War. -
Berlin Blockade
Berlin was split and controlled by democratic (U.S) and communist (Soviet). In order for the soviet to gain full control of Berlin, they cut off the food supplies to west Berlin to starve them to death. This is an example of Geography in GASPIRE+ theme because the soviet union wanted to gain full control over the capital. Although the soviet weren't successful, it didn't have a huge impact on the cold war, but increased the tension between the U.S and Soviet. -
NATO
NATO Stands for North Atlantic Treaty organization. It was created to support anyone who were attacked, which basically was a threat to communist countries. It basically cause fear upon communist countries, which later on would be cause them to never attack. -

Councel for Mutual Economic Assistance. This was the soviet response to the Marshall Plan, which created competition with the U.S and stopped Marshall plan from Europe to be in debt to the U.S. This is an example of Economic from GASPIRE+ theme because it was mainly to stop the U.S from making any country go in debt to them. -
Warsaw Pact
Warsaw Pact was created, in which suggest leaving would be seen as disloyal. The Warsaw Pact was created in response to the creation of NATO. The Warsaw Pact is an example of Social from the GASPIRE+ theme because it demonstrates the interaction communist country must follow. This cause communist country to fear into attacking another communist country, which was the idea was spread among communist country in the Cold War. -

Space age fashion became a thing when space race was a special thing for the U.S. When we were the first one to space and the moon, people would wear Space fashion to represent the popular thing going on. This is an example of art from GASPIRE+ theme because it was space fashion was a popular thing in the 1960s. It made space race between Russia and U.S more popular and special. -
First Man on Moon
The U.S sent the first man to the moon. Neil Armstrong was the first person to be on the moon. This is an example of Social of GASPIRE+ theme because it was a very special moment that showed that U.S is the best. This created more rivalry between countries because beating U.S would mean that U.S isn't the best. -
Personal Account
My Dad, Paul, live in south Vietnam, until North Vietnam became communist and attack south Vietnam. This cause my dad's family to use all the money for my dad to escape South Vietnam leaving behind his family. It relates to Cultural from GASPIRE+ theme because it cause him to not live a normal life in south Vietnam. This demonstrates what communism was like during the Cold War. -

After the end of the Cold War, a new situation appear where the U.S fears soviet terrorist smuggle nuclear weapons over the U.S border and cause chaos for the American citizen. This was cause because of the new technology of nuclear weapon created during the Cold War that lead to Terrorist using them. Which is an example of Intellectual from the GASPIRE+ theme because the advance of nuclear weapon during the Cold War made nuclear weapon now more danger as ever.
